The Hen and Chickens is a traditional 17th-century Grade II listed pub with 5 basic en-suite rooms available to let on floors 1 and 2. We are centrally located and just seconds away from all the shops, bars, museums and parks of beautiful Bridgnorth, yet hidden away within a tranquil courtyard setting surrounded by antique shops and fine restaurants. Bridgnorth town centre is just a 1-minute walk away with car parking readily available nearby. We are ideally situated to visit the Cliff Railway, beautiful churches, the old castle ruins and the famous Severn Valley Railway which operates vintage trains on a beautiful 16 mile stretch of riverside line. Why not relax at our bar after a round of golf at Bridgnorth Golf Club..it's just a mile away. We offer our overnight guests storage facilities for fishing, golf and cycling equipment free of charge. The museum is also in High Town which is great to visit whilst shopping or sampling the many pubs and restaurants Bridgnorth has to offer.The bar area has recently undergone extensive refurbishment and we always carry a good selection of lagers, ales and ciders - with 5 locally brewed cask ales on tap there should always be something tasty for the real ale enthusiasts among you.. The Hen and Chickens has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where guests and local residents can meet friends and family for a drink and a chat after a hard day at work (or play) every night of the week. We offer free entertainment in the bar every week, ranging from DJs and bands to solo artistes and comedians. We also show a wide range of live sports events via satellite TV, including the ability to watch any Premier League football match live, whatever time it kicks off.Please Note: Our letting rooms are all positioned on floors 1 and 2 so access is via quite a steep, narrow staircase which may not be suitable for everyone. Also please be aware that we are primarily a pub and music establishment - our letting rooms are simply furnished and may sometimes be subject to noise from either the street or bar, especially at weekends. We do not claim to offer the luxurious rooms or levels of service that you would expect to get at a full-time hotel, and I think our prices reflect that fact. If you plan to stay more than one night please note that we do not offer a daily bed-making service, although we are always happy to provide fresh towels and refreshments if required during your stay - simply pop in to the bar and let us know what you need. I believe our rooms are of a decent standard for the price we charge, with clean bedding and towels and hotcold drinks and biscuits supplied. Our breakfasts are especially well liked and our staff always endeavor to provide a friendly welcome and help make your stay a happy one.

Directions

Upon arrival in Bridgnorth Low Town use the bridge to drive, walk or cycle over the River Severn and then follow Underhill Street towards Bridgnorth High Town. After about half a mile, at a mini roundabout, turn right into St Marys Street. The Hen and Chickens is on the left about 300 yards along the street (opposite the Thai Restaurant and next door to the New Inn public house).
